ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — U.S. Reps. Kweisi Mfume and Steny Hoyer have won reelection in Maryland, along with the state's six other U.S. House incumbents including 1st District Representative Andy Harris, who represents the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Mfume, a Democrat, defeated Republican Kimberly Klacik on Tuesday for the seat in a district that includes a substantial portion of Baltimore and its suburbs. Hoyer is the House majority leader. In that position, he works to mobilize the party's votes and acts as a liaison between Democrats and the party's leadership.

Meanwhile, voters have approved legalized sports betting. Voters also approved a constitutional amendment to grant stronger budget powers to the state legislature. Details such as where it will be allowed will be decided by state lawmakers later.
