ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Democrat Mike Rosenbaum is dropping out of the Maryland governor’s race.

The tech entrepreneur with a Baltimore-based business made the announcement Tuesday. His decision narrows the field of Democratic candidates in the primary from nine to eight. Rosenbaum says his campaign was launched around the vision that Maryland can do more to help more residents achieve economic security.

He says he has concluded that a campaign for governor is not the most effective way to achieve the kind of change he believes is necessary, and that he will return to the private sector.
