WASHINGTON (AP) — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, a cancer survivor, says he’s received a third shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

And he’s urging the federal government to make booster shots available earlier than currently planned. Hogan appeared Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation” and said he received the additional dose this week on the recommendation of his doctors. He urged the government to speed up its current plans for administering the booster. Plans announced this week by the federal government call for most people to wait eight months from getting their second dose to get a booster.

Hogan said that’s too long. But some public health experts say booster shots won’t be effective if administered too early.
