SALISBURY, Md. – The city is teaming up with two local yoga studios to host its first ever Yoga Festival this summer at the Salisbury amphitheater.

Soul Yoga Studio and Shining Waters Yoga will be the ones hosting the day long event on June 21st, which is International Yoga Day. Teachers from all over the area will be offering free shortened classes of different styles of yoga. We’re told the event is going to be open to everyone in an effort to make yoga more accessible to people of all ages and abilities.

“There’s nothing that you have to be able to do before coming in, especially if you have limited mobility all the more reason to come practice yoga. Yoga is the practice of being present and connected so it’s not that you have to be able to touch your toes to do it,” says Eva Whipple, the owner of Soul Yoga Studio.

In addition to classes there will also be vendors, food trucks and people offering services like reiki. If you have a mat you should bring it with you but there will be some available at the event. The official schedule which includes family friendly events will be released very soon.
