ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Those heading to the Eastern Shore via the bay bridge will soon see a change to the tolls currently in place on Thursdays and Fridays.

Beginning in February, those tolls will return to the previous system of allowing cash payments and accepting E-Z Pass at all times. Cashless tolls started back in October to help minimize backups while the westbound deck rehab project was going on, but due to lower traffic volumes in the winter, they are no longer needed.

However, they will not be gone permanently. As the Maryland Transportation Authority is trying to implement all-electronic tolling by this summer.
